Marilyn Hall, RN – Registered Nurse & President/Owner of Universal Health Care
As President and Owner of Universal Health Care, Marilyn Hall, Registered Nurse, is dedicated to providing the very highest calibre of rehabilitation therapists to meet the many needs of our community. Marilyn is a graduate of the Brantford General Hospital and has served the Brantford and surrounding communities in the health care field for the past 35 years.
We have a friendly, spacious, non-clinical environment and want people in the area seeking physiotherapy and rehabilitation to realize that we have everything for them right here in Brantford!

Marlene Charlton
Marlene Charlton – Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist
Marlene Charlton has been with Universal Health Care since 2009. Her outgoing and friendly personality makes you feel at home right away. She is always willing to assist clients and answer any questions they may have. Marlene will be there for you in all of your health care needs.
In Grade 12, Marlene received the academic award for "Best Overall English Assignment" from the Brantford Expositor. In 2006 and 2007, Marlene was nominated for the Front Line Staff Award through Grand Experiences Canoe and Kayak Outfitters. This was submitted to the Shining Stars Tourism Awards. Marlene was humbled in the acknowledgement received from the Mayor and several other community service organizations represented.
In Marlene's spare time she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 3 children. Marlene is very active at the local gym, which she attends on a daily basis. Marlene also plays on a mixed softball league. She enjoys biking, swimming and kayaking with her family and friends. She is also a fan of the outdoors and encourages her family and friends to be active and live a healthy lifestyle.
Orsi Timar, MPT, M.Sc. – Registered Physiotherapist
Orsi has a background in kinesiology, physical education, and research in stroke rehabilitation. She was born and raised in Hungary and moved to Canada in 2008 to pursue graduate studies in London, Ontario. After a year working as a kinesiologist, Orsi went back to school and graduated from the Master’s of Physical Therapy program at Western University in 2013. She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sport injuries and manual therapy. Her post-graduate education includes courses in manual therapy through the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, in McKenzie therapy, the Mulligan concept and EKSO bionics. Orsi joined the Universal Health Care team in March 2014.
Outside of work, Orsi enjoys the great outdoors, as well as running, playing squash and traveling.
Hayley Shannon, MPT, B.H.Sc. – Registered Physiotherapist
Hayley is a recent graduate from the University of Western Ontario, where she obtained both a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Physiotherapy degree. Hayley has a strong interest in manual therapy and is currently completing her coursework through the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has also taken post-graduate courses in the area of soft tissue release, the Mulligan concept and McKenzie therapy. Hayley also brings her sports background and many years as an elite hockey goaltender to Universal Health Care.
Outside of work, Hayley enjoys playing hockey, squash, traveling and the outdoors.
Christine Shea – Registered Massage Therapist
Christine graduated with honors from the massage therapy program at Lambton College in 2008. Since graduating, Christine has focused on honing her therapeutic massage skills in the rehabilitation field; she incorporates deep tissue massage, facial work, lymph drainage, active release, stretching and joint mobilization into her treatments based on her client’s needs and preferences. In addition, she has extensive experience with MVA and WSIB patients and their treatment needs. Christine has a passion for helping people improve their health and well-being. As a massage therapist, she is client-focused and compassionate. Outside of work, Christine enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping, swimming and living a healthy and balanced lifestyle with her family.

Darlene Rempel, B.Sc. HK, C Ped (C)
Darlene Rempel, B.Sc. HK, C.Ped (C) – Canadian Certified Pedorthist
With a Bachelor’s in human kinetics from the University of Windsor, Darlene worked in the physiotherapy field as a clinical kinesiologist for 5 years prior to her pedorthic endeavours.
Having an aptitude for problem solving and hands-on work, combined with a desire to specialize and focus on lower limb mechanics her interest in the field of pedorthics was sparked. Several years ago, after an internship with Mike Forgrave, Darlene received her Certified Pedorthist (Canada) from the College of Pedorthics of Canada and continues to be an affiliate and associate to Mike Forgrave & Associates in Kitchener. As chief clinician and owner at Foot By Foot Inc. in Woodstock, she enjoys the challenges of lower limb sport injuries, having played at the provincial and university levels herself, and she also appreciates the importance of proper footwear and support for the average foot. She is also consultant to physiotherapy clinics in Guelph, Brantford and New Hamburg.
Darlene enjoys an active life filled with a variety of sports and activities, including volleyball, mountain biking, ultimate Frisbee and slo-pitch, to name just a few. It wouldn't be unlikely to catch Darlene on a hiking trail running with her Jack Russell Terriers.
